Tenonfold Home
Delete your account
Two ways to do it: in the app, which takes about a minute, or by asking us, if you cannot get into the app. Both remove the same things.
Export first, if you want to keep anything
Deletion cannot be undone, and we cannot recover a record afterwards. If there is anything in your Home Record you want to keep, open More, then Home Record, and create an export before you start. You can download the whole record as a PDF, or as an archive with every photo and document in it.
In the app
- Open the app and sign in.
- Tap More in the bottom bar.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account and tap Delete my account…
- Enter your password, type DELETE in the box, and pass the bot check.
- Tap Delete my account.
You are signed out immediately and returned to the welcome screen. The deletion itself happens at once, not on a queue.
If your household has other members, the app will ask you to remove them, or to leave the household, before it will delete your account. This is deliberate: deleting an owner would otherwise take away a record other people are still using.
If you cannot get into the app
If you have lost your password, no longer have the app installed, or the phone is gone, email home@tenonfold.com from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account.
Send it from the account's own email address if you can, because that is how we know the request is yours. If you cannot, tell us the email address on the account and we will write back to it to confirm before deleting anything.
We will confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming. In practice it is much faster; those are the outside limits.
What is deleted
Everything in your Home Record, in both places it lives:
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your home, its floors, rooms, systems, items, finishes and measurements.
- Every photo and document you added, including the originals in file storage.
- Care reminders and their history, recorded work, projects, notes and the contacts you typed in.
- Household membership and any invitations you sent that are still open.
- Your notification settings, the reminders we had sent you, and the push tokens for your devices.
- Any exports you had created, and their download links.
- The copy held on your phone, cleared by the app as part of the same step.
If you are the only member of your household, the household and the home go with your account. If there are others, they keep the record and you are removed from it.
What is kept, and for how long
- Encrypted database backups may still contain your data for up to seven days after deletion, until those backups roll off. They are not readable by the app and are never restored selectively.
- Email delivery records held by our email provider, which show that a message was sent to an address and when, are kept to their own schedule. They contain no part of your Home Record.
- Nothing else. There is no shadow copy, no anonymized profile and no marketing list that survives deletion.
Deleting without ever having an account
You can use Tenonfold Home without an account: starting a Home Record creates an anonymous identity held on your phone. If you never save it with an email, it is deleted automatically after 30 days with no activity. To remove it sooner, delete the app, or use the same Delete my account step above, which works for an anonymous record too.
